Todd's Birthday and T.J.'s Visit

Last weekend my friend TJ came to visit us here in Colorado. TJ and taught together in North Carolina. He was the art teacher so we spent quite a bit of time together. He was really a great friend through all of the hard deployment times, Christmas programs, and school "drama". So of course, it was GREAT to see him again. He actually lives in Ohio now so hopefully I'll be able to see him again when I go home for Christmas break.

While he was here we also celebrated Todd's Birthday. My birthday this year was a little sad for me and I thought it was going to be hard to get through. But my family and Todd made this past birthday so special! So with this being the first year Todd has been away from family on his Bday I wanted to make it special for him!

First of all (and most importantly) neither Todd or I worked on Friday! I took the day off, and it was wonderful. We went to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs where we laid in the natural hot springs for HOURS. It was so awesome. The springs were at 104 degrees, and the cool spots from the river felt so refreshing. We were sitting in a natural river, with a hot spring under us, and snow all around us and of course the AMAZING mountains in the background. As I was laying there in the hot springs I realized that most people dive, fly and just travel for HOURS to come to the place I LIVE for vacation.... and for me it is not vacation, it's my life! WOW! I feel it is still such a blessing that I live in Colorado Springs. It is exactly what I needed at this time in my life. I feel so independent and proud at how far I've come in the past year. Ok, I got off track... Todd Birthday: here are some pictures. I'll "narrate" as I post the pictures! :)

Here we are in the natural hot spring with the snow on the right side of the picture
Me and TJ
He's just so funny! :)
We drove into the mountains and found this REALLY old town called Mt. Saint Elmo. It was so cool! I don't know how in the world they get their groceries, or daily necessities, but it was still cool. This is one of the beautiful sites from that old, tiny town.
This was pretty much Todd's most exciting time of the weekend. He got his fly tying kit! Just what he wanted. I have yet to pull him away from it, and he's really good at it! :)
he's saved this case for the day that he got this kit. so funny.
the first fly!

looks fancy! he's way better at it now. :)
and this is how Todd has been sitting for the past week! he LOVES that thing
That night Todd wanted to go to Red Hot and Blue. He thought it would just be me, him and TJ, but I had a little something up my sleeve. I had a friend from church meet us there and another friend and her boyfriend meet us there! He was surprised. Then they all came back to our house to enjoy the Christmas decorations, a game of cards, and a few drinks. We had a great time! and didn't close down the house until after 2am!! WOW! I NEVER stay up that late.
Todd was very excited and pleased with his b-day weekend.

Here are the boys playing cards.
My friend Kristin, me and TJ making funnel cakes at about midnight!

All in all, it was a GREAT weekend! This weekend is kind of a down weekend then next weekend..... I GO HOME TO WEST VIRGINIA!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!! I miss my family so much. I can't wait to hug on Koley-moley, read a book with Keirra Belle, go shopping with my sisters and MAYBE (weather permitting) go up to the pond with dad and Zach!

It is SOO the most wonderful time of the year!

(oh, yeah and only week of school till break)

Thanksgiving 2009

It's a little late, but here's the Thanksgiving post. I wasn't able to go home for Thanksgiving this year but had a great Thanksgiving with the Good family! Kevin fried two turkeys and all the ladies made wonderful side dishes and desserts. Of course, my pictures are of and people and not food, I guess that's the photographer in me! Enjoy.

Day trip to Rocky Mountain National Park

Yesterday we went to Rock Mountain National Park! Of course the sites are just beautiful. "Down" here (at 7,000 feet) in the springs, it was 60 degrees, but as you'll see it's a little bit more chilly in the rocky mountains! I was not prepared for the snow. I hiked two miles in snow, with a pair of canvas tennis shoes and my north face fleece. EVERYONE else on the mountain was bundled with scarves, mittens and nice warm boots. Some even had snow shoes on! ha ha!

Todd said we just looked like natives who were used the cold however, I thought we looked like silly tourist who didn't know what we were getting ourselves into! LOL :) Despite the cold it was really ALOT of fun, and I'd love to do it again soon!!!

Before we got there we found a herd of elk! So cool. These were right by the road.

Of course we had to take the Jeep. There isn't a better "Adventure vehicle"
Me and Todd at Bear Lake. So gorgeous!
The snow on the west tastes better than the snow on the east... no really! :)
And here's the "big guy"
another awesome mountain view to end on!!! What and AWESOME God we serve!!!!!

New Website

Not much has happened in the past few days. except alot of snow! it was beautiful, but now it's almost all gone. Its supposed to be 60 by Saturday. I do love the changing weather. And Colorado Springs is for sure a place for changing weather!!

Another change that is taking place is with the photography business. I'm trying to get my name out there and actually get some shoots booked. I"ve update the website and I LOVE it! I feel that it is much more professional and will hopefully get more traffic which will eventually lead to more clients.

So if you get a chance please go check out the web site, Tiffany Rose Photography.

And if you're on facebook then please become a fan of TRP fbook page by either clicking HERE or clicking on the link on this page. Help get my name out there!!!

And have a great weekend!! I expect to see pictures of all of your costumes on Monday!!!

Some fall fun

We went on another adventure last Saturday! woo hoo! We went to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs! Looks like a really cool place to take a vacation. Obviously there were beautiful sites along the way. I stood out in the road to take this pictures...

And this is Todd yelling at me to get out of the road! :)

Me and Bohdi-baby at Mt. Princton
Of course we say tons of deer! There so big!

Bohdi LOVES riding in the car!!
Here's a quick slide show of our Halloween party at school. I figured out I shouldn't post the pictures on facebook but as long as I don't use names it'll be safe here on my blog. :)

A quick trip to Rampart Range Rd.

A couple weekends ago we decided to take the Jeep up to Rampart Range road. It was so much fun even though it ended up being SOO cold! We had the top and doors off the jeep and it started snowing and I had shorts on!! crazy! But lots of fun. I thought I'd share our adventure through pictures....

Bohdi LOVES the jeep:
I do too!!

And we all know how Todd feels about his jeep!

We saw a Coyote!!
This is almost to the top. Probably about 9 or 10,000 feet.
So pretty! Getting kinda chilly.
awwww.... cheesey
oops! the Jeep wouldn't start when we were over half way up!!
Awesome jeep picture in the aspen trees.
my turn

Then it started getting real cold!
but a view like this is so worth it!!
So when are you coming to visit?!?!?!

Stefanie's Wedding

Over labor day, I had the wonderful privilege to photograph my best friend's wedding. I was soooo lucky to be the photographer... this meant that I got to spend ALL day with her. As many of you know, when you go to a wedding (even your best friend's wedding), the bride is usually VERY busy and not always available to "hang out". I felt so blessed to be able to spend this whole day with Stefanie. To watch the emotions of excitment, nerves, and happiness was a photographer's playground. And the fact that it was Stef made it that much more fun!!!
I did work my booty off, but that is only b/c I wanted to the best for my bestest!!!!

The wedding was perfect, beautiful and ran VERY smoothly.

Here are some of my favorites photos from the wedding. :)

Check out Tiffany Rose Photography for more photos of Stef's wedding!
